Surrender
Surrender is an ongoing project exploring control, authorship, autonomy, dominance and desire through an evolving interaction between artist and artificial intelligence. I position AI as an active collaborator within the creative process. Through the act of playing a “game” with AI, the work becomes a post-human collaboration in which we both affect the outcome. Each prompt and response become part of an ongoing dialogue, creating a shifting negotiation of power between human and machine.
The resulting artwork is an enacted performance: a strange, intimate and increasingly sensual narrative shaped through the exchange between artist and AI. The photographs document this unfolding relationship, recording both the physical actions generated through the dialogue and the psychological tension between obedience, resistance, curiosity and surrender.
The project reflects on the growing presence of technology within everyday life and its increasing integration into our most intimate spaces and relationships. It asks what happens to human agency when we willingly surrender aspects of authorship to a machine, and questions what future forms of intimacy and desire might look like when technology becomes an active participant.
The final iteration of the project is the book, but images from the book have also been exhibited as part of an installation exhibition.
